UK DELIVERIES
UK Deliveries are carried out by Royal Mail, Thistle Couriers & APC. All deliveries must be signed for upon receiving parcel.

At checkout stage choose from either UK 2nd Class Signed (3-5 working days as a guide only) or UK 1st Class Signed (1-2 working days as a guide only)

PLEASE NOTE: Delivery times are a guide only.

Delivery time in working days is based on Monday - Friday

We DO NOT ship parcels to PO (BFPO) boxes

Restrictions on the purchase of certain goods:

If you have ordered any of the following:
A. Knives (including NON DOMESTIC SWORDS & KNIVES, sgian dubhs) or bladed items, by placing an order you confirm that you are over the age of 18.
B. Alcohol, by placing an order you confirm that you or the recipient of a gift containing alcohol are over the age of 18.

The prices shown on our website include the current UK rate of VAT (Value Added Tax).  The amount you pay will be the price indicated plus any delivery charges. 




INTERNATIONAL DELIVERIES

We ship to destinations outside the UK


***Orders placed from countries outwith the EU and being delivered to countries outwith the  EU will not pay the current UK rate of VAT (Value Added Tax). So for example if you are ordering from the USA  you won't pay the current rate of UK VAT which is currently 20%

International Deliveries are carried out by Royal Mail/Parcelforce/DHL, APC. All deliveries must be signed for upon receiving parcel. We DO NOT ship parcels to PO (BFPO) boxes 

For delivery time for International Orders to EU countries please allow 3-5 working days as a guide only

For delivery time for International Orders to countries outside EU please allow 5-7 working days as a guide only.

PLEASE NOTE: Depending on which country you are ordering from, you may be required to pay to your government/authorities a small percentage of the value of the goods ordered at your end for Importation Tax or for such services such as Brokering services or for other services/taxes not mentioned here. Scotland's Bothy can take no responsibility for such taxes/services, or for any goods seized by import authorities due to local regulations, such as organic materials (wood as an example) or weaponary. If you have any doubts, please check with your local authorities before placing any order. Scotland's Bothy has no control over any of the taxes/services and laws and regulations  and you must check with your Customs Office before placing an order.  Regulations vary from country to country so please make sure that you  comply with all laws and regulations of the country where goods are being received.

 

 

RETURNS & EXCHANGES POLICY
Customer Satisfaction is very important to us and we strive to make you the customer very happy with your purchase and very happy with your experience shopping at Scotland's Bothy. We are a small family run business in Aberdeen, Scotland and we take great pride in your order from start to finish. Exchanges & returns will be dealt with swiftly. Just follow the steps laid out in our returns & exchange policy.

In the event that you would like to exchange an item:

1) If you would like to exchange an item for a different one, send us an email to scotlandsbothy@yahoo.co.uk with your Order Ref. No. along with details of original purchase and what you would like to exchange for. We will then reply to your email with a Returns Address where applicable. Please return the original item along with a letter informing us about the product you would like to exchange it for. If you wish to exchange an item, you are obliged to provide us all details considering new purchase (enclosing item code, size, colour, etc.) Exchanges are accepted within 28 days from the delivery of the original parcel to you. The difference in cost if any, being payed by customer along with £3.50 re-packaging/handling/administration charge and also new carriage cost being payed by customer. If you are exchanging for an item of less value then your card would be refunded the difference minus the new carriage charge and minus £3.50 re-packaging/handling/administration charge. Please note Any goods that you wish to exchange must be in original state/un-used/ & unopened where applicable and with original packaging and in saleable condition. All tags/labels MUST still be attached as they were when delivered, failure to do so will result in the goods being returned to you and you will be obliged to pay the cost of return carriage.

In the event that you would like to return your order please follow these steps:

1) Send us an email with your Order Ref. No. along with details on why you are returning the goods and state whether you would prefer REPLACEMENT GOODS or REFUND  -  to: scotlandsbothy@yahoo.co.uk  we will then double check our system to see what you ordered at checkout, then we will send a return email to you with a Returns Address where applicable. ***Please make sure to clearly mark your parcel as RETURNS and If you are returning an item, you need to give us full name, address, Order Ref. No., reason for return and state that this is a return package and whether you would like REPLACEMENT GOODS or REFUND***. Goods must be sent back to us with all original packaging. Please note Any goods that you send back to us must be in original state/un-used/ & unopened where applicable and with original packaging and in saleable condition. All tags/labels MUST still be attached as they were when delivered,any seals/cellophane/shrink wrap must not be broken/tampered with, failure to do so will result in the goods being returned to you and you are obliged to pay the cost of return carriage. When sending products back to us please make sure there are no surcharges to the recipient. In our experience, broker service charges apply to the recipients when shipping via UPS. Our company does not cover them, which may result in failed delivery and return of a parcel. Returns are accepted within 28 days from the delivery of the original parcel to you and only if goods are in saleable condition unless faulty on our behalf.

2) Once we receive the returned goods and are happy that they are in saleable condition (as described in step 1 above)  we will then either ship out good replacement goods or refund your card where applicable. You will also be refunded for the carriage cost (only if goods were faulty on our behalf, if you are returning because no longer required you will not be re-funded the carriage, only cost of goods returned) for having to send the goods back to us (being the amount payed for carriage at initial order unless you are returning only part of a parcel where the amount refunded may be less).

PLEASE NOTE - If you have ordered your product online then you must follow the procedures above, we cannot take online purchase returns in person at our shop in Aberdeen (Scotland's Bothy, 250/252 George Street, Aberdeen, AB25 1HN).



EXCEPTIONS
Items custom made to order are NON RETURNABLE (such as personalised items & personalised PhotoSlates) unless of course there is an error on our behalf.

Due to hygiene reasons and copyright, the following items are non-returnable unless faulty:

Lingerie/Underwear, and swimwear. Please ensure that such items are tried on over your own underwear. We reserve the right to refuse returns of underwear items where it is apparent that this has not been the case.

Hair accessories and hats unless unworn and the tags still in place.

Pierced body jewellery and pierced earrings - we will not refund or exchange any pierced jewellery.

Cosmetics/toiletries and towels, returns will be accepted if they are in a saleable condition with unbroken seals and packaging, all original tagging intact as supplied and only if supported by a valid proof of purchase (your dispatch note) for exchange or refund.
Food and Beverages, unless they are unopened with any seals and shrink-wrap intact, all original tagging intact as supplied.

DVDs and CDs, unless they are unopened with any seals and cellophane intact.
