The Battle of Bannockburn (Scottish Gaelic: Blàr Allt nam Bànag or Blàr Allt a' Bhonnaich) was fought on 23–24 June 1314, between the army of Robert the Bruce, King of Scots, and the army of King Edward II of England, during the First War of Scottish Independence. It was a decisive victory for Robert Bruce and formed a major turning point in the war, which ended 14 years later with the de jure restoration of Scottish independence under the Treaty of Edinburgh-Northampton. For this reason, the Battle of Bannockburn is widely considered a landmark moment in Scottish history. 

WORK No. JMC002 One-of-One Ornamental Sgian Dubh & Soild Oak Wall Plaque
The second completed piece in the collection of individually handcrafted works.
Sgian Dubh made from Scottish Cairngorms Red Deer Antler, Solid Oak Fittings and a beautiful Damascus Steel Blade.
The Sgian Dubh is held in place with a magnetic blade mount so that the beautiful pattern on the Damascus Steel Blade is displayed against the grain of the Solid Oak Wall Plaque.
The blade is intentionally unsharpened and the piece is made as an ornamental and collectible object rather than a functional cutting knife.
Comes beautifully presented with a hand shaped, sanded & oiled Soild Oak presentation plaque engraved with the poem titled "BANNOCKBURN"  which was written by the maker to compliment this piece of work. The oak plaque is also engraved and numbered to the rear, dated and signed by the artist with the makers mark.
